just get a single day to call their own. But wine has become so vital to California, that it deserves a whole month. At least according to our Governor.
So why is California Wine Month more than just another couple of words on some official calendar and the minutes of a legislative session? Because stuff actually happens during this month that is worth paying attention to.
Chief among these are opportunities to drink wine. Were you expecting any less?
Those of you in the Bay Area get an opportunity to go on a little “road trip by glass.” Or rather, your palates get the chance to do so simply by walking around a room. Now you’re starting to get the picture.
Held on the upper floor of the Ferry Plaza Building, the 2013 California Wine Month Road Trip Tasting will feature 70 wines representing most of California’s diverse wine regions. There will be snacks available to keep your stomach from rumbling (though if you get really hungry, you can always go downstairs and gorge yourself at the Ferry Plaza’s gourmet ghetto.
So instead of putting a few thousand miles on your own car this summer, take a little road trip in your glass and attend a California Wine Month tasting instead. Those going to the San Francisco can get a special price for being Vinography readers (see below).
