We should all be drinking more Greek wine. Why? Because the best Greek wines offer incredibly unique flavors, often at fantastic prices, thanks to being fairly unknown even to more serious wine lovers.
I’ve been a huge fan of Greek wines since my trip to the country a three years ago, and I’ve been itching to drink some more great bottles, so why not throw a dinner party?
Next Wednesday, May 7th, I’ve managed to commandeer a large communal table for 12 people at Souvla, one of San Francisco’s newest restaurants, opened by Charles Bililies, who spent time in the kitchens of The French Laundry and Michael Mina among others.
I’ll be pouring six fantastic Greek wines to accompany a hearty family-style meal featuring spit roasted chicken and lamb, among other delectables. I’ve selected stellar wines from producers Alexakis, Sigalas, Alpha Estate and Skouras.
We’ll eat well, drink well, and I’ll lead you on a little guided tour of some very special wines from Greece.
With only 12 seats, this event will sell out fast, so if you’re interested, grab yours now.
