Old Gamay vines dance a slow dance under dramatic skies in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation in Beaujolais. When it comes to old vines, Beaujolais is stuffed chock-full of them, thanks in part to economics. Since the wines have never commanded particularly high prices, most producers simply can’t afford to replant. This particular vineyard appears to be farmed organically and is teeming with life in early spring.
