A side valley unrolls like a green carpet of vines towards the mountains in the distance in Santa Barbara’s Santa Maria Valley. The vines belong to Bien Nacido Vineyards, which translates to “well-born” in English. Amidst these picturesque rolling hills, not far from the Pacific Ocean, it’s hard to argue with that designation for these vines and the wines they produce.
