The atmosphere of an old stone cellar is tough to beat when it comes to adding a sense of romance to a visit with a wine producer. Some cellars have more atmosphere than others, however. The walls of the cave at Domaine Bernard Baudry in Chinon are polka-dotted with dark mold that stands out against the white of the tuffeau limestone into which it is carved.
