I don’t know about you, but I love me a good acronym. S.O.R.B.E.T stands for Sonoma Organic Regenerative Biodynamic Educational Tasting, and it’s put on by a group of like-minded Sonoma winemakers and winegrowers who have gotten together to highlight their county’s progress towards more ecologically minded ways of farming and winemaking in an era where greenwashing is also on the rise. These are producers who are not just farming organically but are sequestering carbon, capturing runoff, preventing erosion, improving ecology, and supporting communities of people.
Organized by three school friends in the wine business—Morgan Twain-Peterson of Bedrock Wine Co., Katie Bundschu of Gundlach Bundschu, and Sam Coturri of Winery Sixteen600—this event brings together a group of extremely high-integrity wine producers for a walk-around tasting of some really excellent wine.

Tickets to the event will run you $78.30, and should be purchased in advance online. My advice? Get a good night’s sleep, grab a big lunch ahead of time, and spit so you can try a lot of stuff and still keep your head.
