Paso Robles Comes to San Francisco: May 2, 2006

I really like Paso Robles wine, but it’s just so far away. If you’re like me, the three and a half hour drive is just a bit daunting when it comes to making plans for a Saturday wine tasting. When you know that old saying about the mountain and Moses? Paso Robles is coming to San Francisco. On May 2, over forty different wineries from the Paso area will be at Crushpad in San Francisco pouring their wines and meeting the crowd.

And if that’s not enough of a draw for you, you can also observe the casting call for a new reality TV show on PBS called The Winemakers. Apparently someone thought it would be a good idea to combine the interviews with potential cast members with this tasting. Doesn’t sound like a great idea to me but might provide some humor when your palate fades.

Here’s the list of the wineries that will be pouring:

Adelaida Cellars
Anglim Winery
B&E Winery
Calcareous Vineyard
Cass Winery
Chateau Margene
Chumeia Vineyards
Clautiere Vineyard
Doce Robles Winery
Dunning Vineyards
Eagle Castle Winery
Eberle Winery
EOS Estate Winery
Four Vines Winery
Gelfand Vineyards
Grey Wolf Cellars
Halter Ranch Vineyard
Hansen Vineyard
Hunt Cellars
J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines
Justin Vineyards & Winery
Kenneth Volk Vineyards
L’Aventure Winery
Locatelli Vineyards & Winery
Maloy O’Neill Vineyards
Martin & Weyrich Winery
Midnight Cellars
Niner Wine Estates
Norman Vineyards
Opolo Vineyards
Orchid Hill Vineyard
Peachy Canyon Winery
Pretty-Smith Vineyards & Winery
RN Estate
Robert Hall Winery
Silver Horse Winery
Still Waters Vineyards
Tablas Creek Vineyard
Treana
Victor Hugo Winery
Vina Robles
Wild Horse Winery & Vineyards

That’s a pretty comprehensive list. There are a few missing that would have been nice to see on the list, but it beats three hours in a car and a day of dashing around the backroads.
