A worker dumps freshly harvested Chardonnay grapes into a hopper in the Carneros region of Sonoma County. This week, the first grapes of the 2022 vintage are beginning to be harvested for sparkling wine, marking the beginning of a somewhat early harvest season for Northern California wine country.
