Terraced vineyards show off their full autumn colors in Alexander Valley in Sonoma County. I think that Alexander Valley may be one of California’s most under-appreciated wine growing regions. Long overshadowed by Sonoma’s Coastal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the Bordeaux blends (or even straight Cabernet Sauvignon) from Alexander Valley have never been better, and some easily rival those of the more famous neighboring region to the southeast.
